Wildlife Conservation Society Canada (WCS), established in Canada in 2004, has the clear mission to save wildlife and wild places in Canada. We fill urgent conservation science gaps and deliver ambitious conservation results.
Including WCS Canada as a beneficiary in your Will is a wonderful way to help us continue to achieve our mission to protect wildlife and wild places while meeting your own personal, financial-planning, and philanthropic goals.
Think back to your first swim in a cold lake, or the first time you saw a deer in the woods?
We all have a connection to nature and at WCS Canada we are working to make sure this connection and the wonder it brings to each of us is not lost forever. Choosing to remember WCS Canada with a gift in your Will is the perfect way to let your care and compassion for nature continue in years to come. Even a gift of 5% will make a real difference to nature and wildlife in Canada and worldwide.
How your legacy gift will help
A gift in your Will provides WCS Canada with essential support for our conservation priorities such as protecting endangered wildlife and their habitats—forests, valleys, rivers and lakes — for years to come.
How your legacy gift will help Wildlife and wild places
Here are many ways to remember WCS Canada in your Will. It doesn’t have to be a large amount—every dollar makes a difference.
You can leave WCS Canada a Residual Gift -expressed as a percentage of what is left of your estate or assets after other gifts (and debts) have been paid. It’s not too late, even if you already have a Will, you can add a residual beneficiary without affecting the gifts you leave others.
You can leave a fixed sum of money - a Specific Gift - a stated sum of money or a particular item, which can be sold to support our conservation work. It could also be property or an item of value, such as a painting or jewellery.
You may also name WCS as a Conditional Beneficiary in your Will, indicating that the gift will occur only in the event that an already named beneficiary predeceases you.
All that’s needed to leave a legacy gift is a few sentences. Here is some information that may be helpful:
